I recently had the pleasure of working with designer Tiffany Chou (www.tiffanychou.com) to photograph some of her newest work. She is amazingly talented at what she does. Her apparel and jewelry designs are truly works of art.

Here are some behind the scenes images from the shoot and a few shots that show off her work.

Why I call Maui Home

Thursday, January 14, 2010

After spending the last month home in Maui, I am back in Los Angeles working to finish my degree in Environmental Studies at USC. As I flew in to LAX over the never ending sprawl of lights and urbanization that blankets Southern California, I could not help but compare it to the beautiful sight of bright green cane fields and aqua waters that brings a smile to everyone lucky enough to fly to Hawaii.

Although the natural beauty of the Hawaiian Islands is second to none. I have come to realize that it is not just the beauty of the land that makes Hawaii so special.

Its the lifestyle.

Warm air, clean blue water, open land, no traffic, amazing food, beautiful vistas, gorgeous women, free beach parking, epic surf, perfect weather, and friendly people all combine to create a truly first class place to live and call home.

MAUI NO KA OI!

More Epic Winter Surf

Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Maui has been going off! The El NiƱo conditions have been responsible for a series of North West swells, and we have had numerous days of surf classified as "giant." Here are a few images of the latest action.

Christmas Day Swell!

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Maui was blessed with a solid north west swell on Christmas Day. The conditions were beautiful, and the wind was perfect for a late afternoon windsurf session at Peahi (aka: Jaws). Stay tuned for another giant swell on the forecasts for Sunday and Monday!

Gear Info:

5D Mark II
400 f2.8 IS
Canon 1.4x
Manfrotto 501 Tripod Head

I shot from the Cliffs above Peahi. When visiting Jaws take some time to look around and explore, there are some great spots just off the beaten path with amazing views of the surf. Make sure to watch out for the cliff edge which might not be visible in the tall grass!
